It depends on who is using it.
If we look at Greek mythology, Eros was originally the reproductive principle, and the first organized entity to emerge from Chaos. (Other creatures might have emerged earlier, but without the reproductive principle, they eventually died and were absorbed back into chaos.) So, yes, in one way Eros is a very big concept indeed.
We still find Eros and the connection with reproduction - or at least the desire to reproduce - in words such as 'erotica'. Also, in the past, some philosophers defined four kinds of love - there is the love you have for close friends and brothers and sisters, the love between parents and children, the love you have for water-skiing and bacon burgers (or whatever), and the love you have for a member of the opposite sex. That final kind of love is Eros.
